About the Journal

Journal of the Gulf and Arabian Peninsula Studies (JGAPS) is a peer-reviewed, multidisciplinary journal issued quarterly by the Academic Publication CouncilKuwait University since 1975. The journal is dedicated to publishing original, high-quality scholarly research that addresses the issues and transformations affecting the Gulf and Arabian Peninsula region. This includes the member states of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC): the State of Kuwait, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the State of Qatar, the Kingdom of Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, and the Sultanate of Oman, in addition to the Republic of Yemen and the southern region of the Republic of Iraq, which is historically, geographically, and politically connected to the Arabian Gulf and the Arabian Peninsula.

The journal accepts submissions in both Arabic and English, provided that the research is directly related to the region, either in subject matter or analytical scope—whether by focusing on a specific country within the region or by offering comparative studies that contribute to a deeper understanding of its unique characteristics and ongoing transformations. The journal's scope is organized into nine approved research tracks that represent its core areas of interest: Educational and Pedagogical Studies, Social and Demographic Studies, Psychological and Behavioral Studies, Legal Studies, Political Studies, Economic and Administrative Studies, Media and Cultural Studies, Geographical, Environmental, Urban and Sustainable Development Studies, and Historical and Civilizational Studies.
