About the Journal

Journal of Sharia and Islamic Studies was founded on March 15^th, 1983, with the 1^st issue released in Rajab 1404H - April 1984. JSIS is one of the journals of the Academic Publication Council, established by the University of Kuwait on 22 November 1986, as the Council supervises university scientific journals, formulates their general policy, and regulations, and works to promote them to a specialized academic journals level.

JSIS is a journal addresses research and Islamic studies. It aims to address contemporary problems and emerging issues from Islamic Sharia point of view. It therefore has a variety of subjects tackle most of the Islamic Sharia sciences from interpretation, Hadith, Islamic Theology, Dawa (calling for Islam), Islamic Fiqh (Islamic Jurisprudence), Comparative Fiqh, Fiqh Principles, Islamic Economy, Islamic Culture, Biography, besides scientific conferences reports, reviews of contemporary legal opinions and books, and comments on scientific issues.

The Journal authors are also diverse like faculty members from to various Islamic universities and colleges across the Arab and Islamic worlds.

The Journal is adhered to certain standards and regulations subject all research received to process of examination and review carried out by elite of scholars specializing in Islamic Sharia, with a view to promoting Islamic scientific research that serves the Ummah and works to advance it.

This is an open access journal, which means that all content is freely available without charge to the user or his/ her institution. Users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles, or use them for any other lawful purpose, without asking prior permission from the publisher or the author.
