Member University Malaya Senate, since 2008, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Quran Studies Institute of Malaysia, Chairman of the Advisory Council for the Coordination of Islamic Religious Education (LEPAI), Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National ASEAN Association, and other Middle Eastern University Committees. President of the Sarawak Institute for Skills Studies, President of the Muslims' Union of the University of Malaya and Director-General of the Salahuddin School in the 14th State of Petaling Jaya, Selangor. Professor Al-Haj is also member of the Islamic Affairs Council of the State of Preskotohan, and member of the Council of the Shura of the Rahman Mosque at the University of Malaya.

Has 1st Honor Bachelor’s in Usul Al-Deen, University of Malaya, 1987, Master’s, University of Jordan, 1991, PhD, 2001, University of Wales, Lambert, United Kingdom.

A Professor of the Holy Quran Studies in the Quraan and Hadith Department at the University of Malaya, Head of the Quranic and Hadith Department, Deputy Dean of Graduate Studies at the University of Malaya, Chairman of the Committee of Research Miracles of the Qurani Numerical Miracle in Morocco.

Professor Thulkifel has received various local and international awards and honours, Certificate of Honour from the State of Clantane, 2009, Darjah Dato' Paduka Setia Mahkota Kelantan, Dato (DPSK), and Certificate of Honour, the Moroccan Institute of Science, Rabat, Morocco.

He is also Advisory and Editorial Boards Member of referred scientific journals such as the Journal of Sharia and Islamic Studies at Kuwait University, the Journal of Academic Divines at the Faculty of Divines at Gaziantep University, the Journal of the Al-Madinah International University, Al-Bayan Journal of Qur’an and Hadith Studies, Scopus, University Malaya, and Quranica, International Journal of Quranic Research.

Took part in various local and international conferences.

In his field Interpretation of Quran and its Methodology, Professor Al-Haj parted in research in numerous journals, periodicals and classified books in and out Malaysia, has published 14 books in Malaysia and Singapore, and written 352 books and newspaper articles, in addition to supervising 14 PhD and 36 Master's students, 20 of which were international students.
