Selection of Spare Parts Inventory Classification Model Using Hierarchical Analysis: An Applied Study in Iraqi Drilling Company

Aim of the paper: This study aims at selecting the best classification model for spare parts inventory by specifying the contribution of the classification of spare parts inventory in achieving competitive priorities in the Iraqi Drilling Company.
Study design: A Mixed method represented by a hierarchical analysis process was employed.
Sample and Data: The structured interview was used as a main tool for collecting data and the (AHP) method was adopted to analyze the data obtained from the sample of the study.
Results: The alternative multi-criteria classification model achieved the highest ratio of competitive priorities. The contribution of this model was (65.31%), which was distributed among the four competitive priorities (cost, quality, delivery, and flexibility.
Conclusion: The best classification of spare parts inventory in Iraqi Drilling Company is the classification model with multiple criteria.
