Abstract

The research is in the process of studying a manuscript of a profile of Sultan Thuwaini, one of the Sultans of Oman, and the research aims to: Identify the research aims to identify the differences between the document and other historical narratives. It comes up with general rules followed in writing such documents in that geographical region of the Arab world, and how to document them and their phrases and words used and mixed with Islamic Arabic inheritance inspired by their culture and environment, especially if they are written by a judge, and enumerate names, geographical locations, countries, and villages mentioned in the document. The research relied on the analytical historical method, by reviewing primary and secondary sources and critiquing them internally and externally, with critical analytical notes to those sources, in addition to personal interviews of Omani personalities, and the documentary approach to reach the formulas used in that document.. The study found a set of results, including: That manuscript can be relied upon as a primary source for Thuwaini's character and the events of his time.
